If a tree falls in the forest, but nothing is there to hear it, does it still make noise ? Yes, because whether the action of the three falling produces sound waves or not is not dependent on whether something is there to receive these waves.

    Actually no. The falling tree will make wave in the air molecules, and they will vibrate. Since no ear will be there to receive the vibration, no signal will reach a brain. It is only a brain that translate the signals and call them "noise". It's just waves of air. If a tree falls in the forest, but nothing is there to hear it, it does not make noise.
