• I like to adapt these sorts of jokes to make the punchline less of a punchline and more of a longwinded explanation. So my version would be "Why are black people so good at basketball? Because many African-Americans come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds where educational advantages are hard to come by and, like the military, professional sports is often the only way that a young man can make something of himself in such circumstances." It's not so much "ha ha" funny...
