What happened when the terrorist shot the innocent bystander?

He pulled the trigger which cocked and released the hammer which then struck the bullets primer. The powder on the inside of the bullet was then set off creating a gas that expanded pushing the bullet out of the barrel. The bullet then penetrated the bystanders chest and pierced his heart killing him instantaneously. So he died.
